Personal Data

Hometown:  Los Angeles, CA

Birthday:  February 6, 1978

Sign:  Aquarius

Marital Status:  Single and ready to mingle…haha

Kids:  Not yet, but someday.

Pets:  Awww, my kitty, is so cute.  Her name is Buddy.  I thought she was a boy, but the vet informed me otherwise.  I didn’t want to give her a complex, so her full name is now Rosebud.  I really want to get her another kitty friend, but I am afraid people will think I am a crazy cat lady (being 30 and single and all).

Favorite Artist:  Sandro Botticelli – I am a nut for Renaissance art!

Favorite New CD:  Oh boy, I feel the jokes starting already.  All of the “cool music people” (Rich), make fun of my taste in music.  I am pretty much a pop and country queen, but I like a little hip hop and 80’s rock.  Right now I love “The Duchess” by Fergie, anything by Toby Keith, Carrie Underwood, Trisha Yearwood, Trace Adkins and Brad Paisley.

Favorite All-Time CD:  Cyndi Lauper “She’s So Unusual”

Favorite Song Lyric:  No song can make me tear up like “What a Wonderful World.”  But, I do love this lyric from “Something More” by Sugarland
“Some believe in destiny, and some believe in fate
I believe that happiness is something we create
You best believe that I'm not gonna wait”

First Concert Attended:  My first concert was Hank Williams Jr. with my dad and my uncle.  I was about six years old and I FELL ASLEEP!  My dad still will not let me live it down.  Apparently, it was really loud.  Hank even took off his shirt and was dancing on the piano.  How could I miss that??

Favorite Actor:  Oh wow,  I am so bad at picking just one!  I would have to say, George Clooney, Colin Firth, Morgan Freeman, Steve Martin, Lucille Ball and Kate Winslet are some of my favorites!

Favorite Movie:  It’s a tie between Tombstone, Silence of the Lambs, Steel Magnolias, Love Actually and Breakfast at Tiffany’s…oh and the Wizard of Oz.  I really wanted Dorothy’s shoes!

Favorite TV Show:  I Love Lucy…..I am a classic TV girl!  Although, right now I love Lost, 24, Dirty Sexy Money, Samantha Who, All My Children and I’ll admit it…I am a nut for all the scummy Celeb-Reality shows!  Shhh, let’s keep that our little secret.

Favorite Sports Team:  LA teams are my favorites.  I am a huge baseball and hockey fan and I love cheering on the Dodgers and the Kings, although most years it is a bittersweet job.  I also have to give an honorable mention to the Angels.  Their coach, Mike Scioscia, is one of my all-time favorite Dodgers!

Favorite Website:  I spend way too much time on MySpace, I get retail therapy at Sephora, I love Wikipedia and I always find my weird news of the day at MSNBC.  I bet you thought I was going to say Fox News, huh?

Nickname Growing Up:  Let’s see J-Ho and Jen were the biggies.  There were others, but if I tell you, I’d have to kill you.

People Would Be Shocked If They Knew:  I used to be really shy!!

It all started 30 years ago on a rainy February morning.  It really was a rainy day, but I will spare you the details.  Doug likes to call me, "a true radio brat" and he is right!  My dad grew up loving, living and breathing, radio.  As a kid, I remember him working for many of the big stations in Los Angeles including KFI, KRLA, KROQ and KIEV.  Most of my baby pictures show me perched in front of a microphone.

Growing up I never really had an interest in being in radio.  At first, I wanted to be a checker at KMART and a ballerina.  When that blew over I thought I would be a teacher or a psychologist, although, I secretly wanted to be a singer.  In 1983, after working for years in radio, my dad started his own company, Cable Radio Network, now known as CRN Digital Talk Radio.

When I was 12, I started working for him during the summer and at 15, (after the Northridge earthquake knocked down my high school) I started working for him almost full time.  I did payroll, ordered music, created promotions,  and did some marketing.  If I could learn from it, I did it.  Eventually, I settled into Marketing and Public Relations, and after a 9 year run in college (hey, I was working full time) I got my degree in Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations.  Currently, after I get off the air, I am the Vice President of Sales and Marketing and I oversee all the public relations, marketing and sales operations at CRN.  I really love my day job and working in the cable television and radio industries.  In fact, in 2001 I was named "Woman to Watch" by Women in Cable and Telecommunications.  Then in 2005, I became president of the Southern California Chapter of the organization.
In 2000, my dad was running late for his afternoon radio show (carried on CRN and other broadcast stations).  He called panicked and asked me to sit in for him.  I was beyond scared, but the show had to go on.  Turns out, I liked it, he liked it and the listeners liked it.  So from then on, I became a fill-in host on "The PM Show."  The more I hosted the more comfortable I got.  Therefore, when Doug (an old friend of my dad's) told him he was looking for a younger, female co-host, my dad suggested he talk to me.

On St. Patrick's Day 2006, I auditioned and clicked with Doug and the gang and the rest is history.  I have loved waking up with all of you every morning and working with our absolutely fabulous and quirky team!  It is an amazing way to start the day. In my spare time (which is rare these days), I love catching up with my friends and family, watching movies, volunteering for the Alzheimer's Association (or some of my other causes), shopping, reading, cooking, wine tasting (I'm a sommelier) and traveling.
