Start with 2 cups of dark brown sugar in a mixing bowl. For first timers to the heat, start with 2 tablespoons of cayenne pepper, adding that to the bowl and mixing thoroughly. If you're brave or experienced, you can add a little more - and you're done! Simple as that.
Now that you have the basic mix, let me show you my favorite way to use it:
Hot Sweet Bacon
Take thick-sliced bacon and press into the mix (both sides), then place onto a parchment paper-lined cookie sheet. Into a preheated, 425-degree oven it goes for about 12 minutes. Once done, allow to cool and serve!
For a slightly more decadent treat, press the bacon strips into the mix, then wrap around large scallops, pin in place with a toothpick and cook at 375 degrees for 18 minute.
You can also sprinkle this mix over your favorite custard, rice pudding or bread pudding, then either heat under a broiler or hit it with a simple torch for a stunning treat!
