Companion
Air was formed in 2001 by a couple of pet lovers; Rick
and Diana Roof, and their dog Murphy because they thought that
there had to be a better way for pet owners and their pets
to travel than driving dozens of hours in an automobile or
packing the pet they love into a cargo hold. While they ran
into many who didn’t understand their passion for the
safety and comfort of pet travelers, pet lovers everywhere
cheered them when they talked about their dream. Even the United
States Department of Agriculture (USDA) greeted them with excitement
because they see how pets travel everyday too.
So Rick and
Diana dropped their careers, searched out investors who could
visualize their dream, and started Companion Air. From the beginning,
they set out to create the safest, most comfortable flying experience
they could. They sought out exceptional pilots and flight crews
who were not only
experts, but shared their passion for Companion Air’s mission and
commitment to pets, pet owners, their fellow Companion Air team members,
and their community
