Fantasia Barrino overdoses on aspirin and sleeping pills after sextape scandal

Former 'American Idol' Fantasia Barrino overdosed on Monday night as more allegations of sextapes with a married man began to circulate.

Fantasia Barrino reportedly overdosed on a combination of aspirin and sleeping pills according to TMZ. MTV.com reports that Fantasia's overdose was an apparent suicide attempt.

Fantasia Barrino "doing fine" after overdose

Fantasia Barrino is said to be "doing fine" after her reported alleged suicide attempt by overdose. "She's doing fine," Joseph Barrino told RadarOnline.com.

Fantasia's manager Brian Dickens confirmed reports that the cause of Barrino's overdose was due to her ingesting large amounts of aspirin and sleep medication.

"Her injuries are not life-threatening. She was dehydrated and exhausted at the time," Dickens told People magazine. "Fantasia is stable now. She will be released from the hospital soon."

It has not been confirmed that Fantasia deliberately tried to take her own life. However, her overdose comes during scandalous accusations that Barrino had an affair with a married man.

Barrino's rumored affair is with Antwuan Cook. Cook's wife allegedly has sextapes of her husband with Barrino. She is expected to sue Fantasia for being a "homewrecker" and could get millions from the lawsuit.
