Petitions to Remove Stanford Rape Case Judge Reaches 1 Million
As the nation continues to be outraged but the lenient sentencing of Stanford swimmer, Brock Turner, who was found guilty of several counts of sexual assault, signed petitions to remove the judge from his position has reached one million signatures. Some Jurors are now also refusing to sit on juries presided by Judge Persky. Another round of online outcries started up yesterday when it was announced that Turner's 6-month sentence has already been reduced to three months. Old photos from Turner's phone show him smoking pot while his text messages refer to him taking LSD and MDMA, known as Molly. Prosecutors say that Turner lied to the judge when he claimed to be a small town guy who had never been exposed to alcohol or drugs before college.
