From Tom Parsons - Summer and Fall Airfares On Sale As Low As $29 One-Way!Jun-16-2011
This week we have some of the major airlines fighting for your summer travel dollars. We also have more travel days to lock in those cheap airfares.
If you want to travel during summer 2011 you just need to be flexible and travel smart.
When kids are out of school we all seem to pay more for airline tickets. During summer kids are out of school for 60 days or more so they are flexible. Let's just hope your boss will let you be flexible and travel on off peak days such as Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
The good news is that all the major airlines are matching these low cost airlines sales and are now kicking off their own sales. Airlines such as American, Continental, Alaska, United, Us Airways, Delta and others will match the dates and prices listed below.
This give you the upper hand since there will now be more cheap seats, more routes, and more booking days for you to get these super cheap summer airfares.
We are seeing the airlines give customers a break on charging a peak surcharge fee on these lower airfares. However, Sundays still seem to have a $40 each way surcharge.
Now here are two important rules to get the Bestfares:
1. If you are traveling through Labor Day the cheapest two days will be Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Travel on Mondays and Thursdays will be approximately $10 higher. Travel on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays you could be paying up to $40 more each way.
2. If you are flying between June 19 thru August 14 you need to be really careful not to fly on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and on some days even Thursdays. We have a calendar showing you the blackout dates listed on the link below. If you wish to travel on these days, you will see airfares at least 50% or more higher than non blackout travel days, so be careful and be flexible!
