From Andrea Metcalf - Healthy Eating: When Organic Isn't Worth It
Apr-22-2014

Due to an incredibly cold winter, prices are bound to increase on fruits approximately 7 percent this year. While being health conscious to avoid chemicals and pesticides by buying organic fruits and vegetables can be warranted, there are many foods that may not require an organic purchase only.

By buying these items from the "fresh" vs. "organic" section of the grocery store, you're sure to save a few dollars.

Healthy eating can be simple. Try to opt for lean proteins with each meal and think of the 4-3-2-1 rule: Four servings of fruits or veggies at breakfast, three at lunch, two at dinner and at least one serving of protein with each.

Remember eating a diet with at least 9-11 servings of fruits and vegetables can help you lose weight and give you more energy.
