Reward Now Offered for Missing Laser Cannon

The owners of a giant, missing laser cannon are offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person who took their laser.
The device was taken from a truck last Friday in Denton. The device was in a yellow protective case and is about 2 feet long. It's valued at roughly $12,000.
The FBI is also in the mix, searching for the cannon that is used to help align railroad tracks.

The bureau said the laser has a long range and can cause a problem if it's pointed at traffic or the cockpit of a plane -- where it could blind drivers or pilots.

Even though the Super Bowl is in North Texas next month, authorities said they don't think the device is a threat. The laser cannon is not weaponized.

Anyone with information on the laser cannon's location can notify their local police department or the FBI.
