"Toss that Turtle in the Trash" says Atlanta AirportNov-11-2010
Three sisters from the Milwaukee airport have been reunited with their pet turtle during a trip to Atlanta after the airport security stopped the plane as it was landing to ask the family to throw their turtle in the trash.
Regulations at the Atlanta Airport doesn't allow for turtles to pass through their customs, so in addition to the liquids in too much quantity and the weapons and the drugs, the turtle found its second home in a garbage can.
But before the turtle could furnish, the Dad of the Helm family of which the turtle was a part came down to Atlanta as soon as he can to rescue the beloved family pet, who is now back with his family.
PETA is getting involved and asking the airline industry to investigate, although there seems to be no point. The airport should revise their regulations so that no living creature except maybe really old cheese should find their way in such a disrespectful condition. Otherwise, if the turtle is safe and home, the case is closed.
