- Christmas Music Star of the Day
December 21 2012
The Empty Pockets formed in 2006 out of Chicago and pride themselves on what they call "handcrafted rock and roll" - guitar driven, hook-filled songs with rich vocals devoid of digital effects. Their influences are diverse, ranging from Van Morrison and The Beatles to Paul Simon, Bonnie Raitt, Garth Brooks and Ben Folds. The Pockets have headlined SXSW Music Festival, shared the stage with stars like comedian George Lopez, musical acts like Jason Mraz, Jennifer Hudson, Buffalo Springfield's Richie Furay, The Allman Brother's Dickey Betts, had two singles chart on the Billboard Top 100, and garnered appearances and song placements on multiple major network and cable television programs.
