Rich goes south for the winter Some pictures of where we are on Colombia's north coast. We are in a small town called Rodadero where my wife grew up. It's 90 degrees here everyday and down to about 80 at night. This time of year it's very windy at night and they call it "The crazy wind" The beach is strange ... the sand in the water has black and gold flecks and it literally looks like the water is filled with gold. I still have no explanation of what it is that makes it do that but it's the coolest thing. The beach is a crescent shaped beach backed by mountains. Lots of palm and coconut trees. Vendors stop by to sell beer (woohoo), shrimp cocktail, and will machete open coconuts and put a straw in it so you can drink the water. Very cool. As you can see from the one pic .. the fish is fresh here! Catch it this morning ... eat it for lunch. The fisherman sell fish and fruit right on the street.
