If you're planning a weekend getaway, plan between now and February 8, 2010. This car rental deal will save you a bunch of dollars.

When we compared a three day weekend car rental, picking the car up from DFW airport without the Bestfares exclusive promotion code the car rental with all taxes was $110.86. When we used the promotion code the rate dropped to $69.03. You save $41.83 for a three day car rental, and for four days you would save $55.83 for the exact same car.

Another strategy is the airports you fly into. For example, even with the Doug Stephan Exclusive discount your four day car rental at DFW would be $92.04 with all taxes, if you were to fly into Love Field only a few miles away you will pay only $64.90. You save another $27.19 by just being flexible and flying into a different airport that is close by. The same thing applies if you fly into Houston Hobby vs. Houston International.
