From Andrea Metcalf - Successful weight loss secretsJune 5, 2012
If you were told that you have to lose 83 pounds in the next twelve weeks and a complete team of specialists was there ready to help you... would you sign up to do it? Think about it! That's almost 8 pounds a week that you have to lose, and no matter how many people are there "helping", you still have to make that commitment and do the work.
Despite the odds, Marissa Martin of Chicago, took on that challenge for a reality weight loss show airing on NBC Nonstop and did just that! With a team led by Stephanie Mansour, AKA "Step it up with Steph", she hit her goal of losing just under 90 pounds in three months. Steph, her personal trainer and coach on the journey brought on amazing partnerships including the Raby Institute of Intergrated Medicine at Northwestern which managed her health from a combined Eastern and Western medicine philosophy. Dr. Theri Raby's practice combined internal medicine, natropathic doctors, acupuncture, and other holistic modalities to help her steady weight loss and continued health which was key in the success.
Stephanie arranged the Fresh Diet for Marissa's nutrition which was secondary managed by Raby Institute's natropath when things would plateau. Her acupuncturist, Michele Angel was also key in getting her digestive track moving. Stephanie also planned her entire workout regimen having Marissa workout at least twice a day as well as combined yoga, strength training and cardio into her workouts.
Stephanie knew the importance of recovery in a strenuous program, however and instilled the services of Hope Jenilekberry, therapeutic massage therapist in Marissa's program. Hope combines chakra centering and whole body massage to rejuvenate and revitalize Marissa's tired body on a weekly basis.
Although Marissa and Stephanie did not win the show's grand prize of $5,000 they did qualify for the drawing and were paid $880 for the weight loss. The show "Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is" pays people $10 for every pound they lose as an incentive. You can rally around your friends and help them succeed with www.Healthrally.com.
