Hokey Pokey dancers break recordJun-11-2012
Now that's what it's all about!
A total of 2,569 people - including at least one person over the age of 100 - danced the Hokey Pokey on the Walkway Over the Hudson for more than five minutes Saturday morning, breaking the 4-year-old Guinness World Record for the longest line of dancers performing the same dance.
The old record was set in June 2008 by 2,354 Estonians performing an Estonian folk dance called the Toe Dance.
The line of dancers on Saturday stretched more than a mile on the elevated pedestrian span, a former railroad bridge that connects Highland and Poughkeepsie and now is a state park.
